Romae Hylton-Gordon
My name is Romae Hylton-Gordon and I enjoy immersing myself in nature while capturing its beauty with my film camera. Additionally, I take pleasure in swimming, storytelling through cinematography, reading, cooking, and spending quality time with my loved ones. I am the youngest of three siblings, and when I was 11 years old, my family and I left our culturally rich and beautiful home in Jamaica to start a new life in New York.
I am currently a post-baccalaureate student, patient navigator, and co-captain for a fundraiser through the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. I have conducted research that evaluates MS treatment efficacy in Caucasian and African-American patients. I am also working on another project that focuses on studying the disease characteristics of MS patients from different ethnic backgrounds. As a patient navigator, I organize a Wellness Seminar Series that offers valuable information and resources to our patients. This helps them understand and manage the symptoms of their MS, as each person's journey with the disease is unique.
