Hailing from León, Guanajuato, I am the eldest child of immigrant parents whose sacrifices instilled in me
the importance of resilience and diligence. Their challenges in navigating a complicated healthcare
system inspired my dedication to overcoming language and cultural barriers in medicine.
In my journey to join healthcare leaders, I have focused on ensuring that underserved
communities are acknowledged and understood. As a Spanish interpreter, I have enhanced
patient-provider relationships, improved health outcomes, and empowered patients to take
charge of their care. My clinical efforts are complemented by my roles as a peer mentor and Academic
Success Coach, where I have nurtured inclusive environments and encouraged representation in
education.
Through positions as a medical scribe, medical assistant, and advocate with organizations such as
Pre-Health Dreamers, I have witnessed the significant impact that compassionate, culturally competent
care can have on underserved populations. These experiences, along with my determination to
address healthcare disparities, drive my ambition to become a physician who amplifies the voices
of those often overlooked. I aspire to merge patient care and policy reform to initiate systemic
changes for a more equitable future in medicine.
