Family Medicine Physician

Dr. Rachel M. Turner, MD, MS, MA is a Family Medicine physician, founder of The 15 White Coats®, and a member of the organization’s Board of Directors. Since the organization’s beginning, Dr. Turner has been connected to its mission and growth, bringing the perspective of a physician deeply committed to patient-centered care, health equity, mentorship, and expanding pathways for future physicians.

Dr. Turner completed her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine and her Family Medicine residency through TriStar Health in Nashville, Tennessee. Her clinical training includes full-spectrum primary care across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency medicine settings, with experience serving diverse and underserved patient populations. Her work emphasizes preventive care, chronic disease management, culturally responsive communication, and strong patient advocacy.

In addition to her medical training, Dr. Turner holds a Master of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Tulane University, as well as a Master of Arts in the Social Foundations of Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Medicine, Health, and Society from Vanderbilt University. Her academic and clinical background reflects a strong commitment to understanding both the science of medicine and the social conditions that shape health outcomes.

As she transitions into board service after completing residency, Dr. Turner brings longstanding institutional knowledge, founder-level commitment, and a physician’s perspective to The 15 White Coats®. Her leadership reflects the organization’s continued focus on representation, mentorship, community, and preparing the next generation of physicians to serve with excellence and purpose.
