Eligibility Criteria for the Reflective Visionary Scholarship
To qualify for the Reflective Visionary Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Educational Status:
Must be a graduating high school senior in the current academic year.
Must provide proof of graduation (e.g., final transcript or official letter from a school counselor).
HBCU Enrollment Commitment:
Must plan to enroll at one of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) featured on the HBCU Tethered Tour list.
Proof of acceptance to the chosen HBCU must be submitted by the scholarship award deadline.
Proof of enrollment to the chosen HBCU must be submitted by the scholarship disbursement deadline.
Career Aspirations in Medicine:
Must demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in medicine (e.g., physician, nurse, medical researcher, or public health professional).
Social Media Video Submission:
Create a 1-2 minute Instagram video that includes:
Why you want to attend an HBCU.
Why you want to pursue a career in medicine.
An example of how you’ve shown vision, leadership, or perseverance in school or your community.
Submission Instructions:
Tag @The15WhiteCoats in the post.
Use the hashtags #ReflectiveVisionaryScholarship and #FuturePhysician.
Ensure your profile is set to public until winners are announced.
The video must have at least 50 views and 5 comments from unique users to qualify.

Documentation Requirements:
Proof of acceptance to an HBCU (required before awarding).
Contact information for a parent or guardian for verification purposes (before awarding).
Proof enrollment to HBCU (Schedule of classes. Required before disbursement).
A signed agreement acknowledging the requirement to return funds if enrollment is not completed.
Selection Process:
Applicants will be evaluated based on:
Clarity and passion expressed in the Instagram video.
Relevance to the scholarship’s core values: vision, leadership, and perseverance.
Level of community engagement (views, comments, and likes on the video).
Commitment to attending an HBCU and pursuing a career in medicine.
Disbursement Timeline:
Award Announcement: May (Graduation Season)
Award: Upon submission of proof of acceptance (e.g. official acceptance letter)
Disbursement: Upon submission of proof of enrollment (e.g., official class schedule or confirmation of enrollment) by August.
Additional Requirements:Complete and sign a scholarship form acknowledging the agreement to return funds if disbursed in error.
Provide student and parent email addresses for follow-up verification.
